One last time

You were standing in the corner of the room
A glass in a hand, whispering a word or two.
I didn’t think anything about the shy boy then
Or if I would ever see or talk to you again.

What came next I could have not ever dream,
The love and hate and everything in between.
You were my soulmate in every single way
But you did a stupid thing and you betrayed.

You’re sorry. I’ve heard a million times before,
But your actions kept hurting me even more.
All those dreams and plans we ever had
Are buried deep with my heart in the sand.

I can’t forget. Or forgive for what you did
So you can live your life in blissful peace.
I was pure, like an angel when we first met,
You changed my life, and not for the best.

Like every story, ours also came to an end,
Forget all those crying nights I used to spend.
I have bad memories, more than it should,
I stayed too long, more than anyone would.
